When I think of bread...

Bread in Poland was surrounded with almost religious worship; when it fell on the ground, it was picked up and kissed.

Parents always told children then ‘Kiss the bread to apologise, because it's the God who gives us bread’.

Bread and salt are being used to greet important guests and newly-weds on the doorstep of their home to this day.

Bread is a symbol of life, work, hospitality, wealth and home order for centuries. In past Poland it was believed that an unmarried woman can’t get married until she learns how to bake bread.

Are we still keeping the old respect for bread and the qualities, which were attached to it?
