Jacek: Although rarely I happen to throw out a shrivelled bread piece, I always feel guilty. I do not throw it out to the tip, I put it in a bag, which I hang beside the chute. I try to buy the amount that my family can eat entirely while it is fresh. Out polish bread is unique in taste and aroma, listen to the foreigners about this polish wonder. About throwing out food – the hipermarkets are the leaders, for them food is just another object.
Hanna: I was raised in a home where bread was not thrown out, my grandmother and mother were doing the sign of the cross before cutting into a loaf and bread was never wasted. It was an old tradition. I don’t do it now but I do my best not to waste bread.

Gemin: Though I’m not a religious person, I treat food as a 'gift from God', which deserves special respect... When bread is not good to eat (what happens very rarely, almost always it is good for toast), I throw it to the birds. Always a great number of pigeons come. It’s a fantastic view... After 10 minutes there is nothing left...

Tommy: Today for a lot of people a sacrum is a new car or something, what we can glorify, but in my house we still make the sign of the cross before cutting into a loaf, and when it falls we kiss it.
