On the festival square the foremen give landlords bread from the new grain. Accepting the bread the landlords say the traditional words: ‘We promise to share this bread justly, so it lasts for everybody’.

Then some artistic shows are held and the festivities carry on until it is really late.

Christmas Eve wafer – holy bread

Christmas Eve is a ceremonial dinner on the day before Christmas Day.
 

Every year in polish homes, the Christmas Eve dinner is after a grand ritual of splitting the wafer. By splitting the wafer we forgive all wrong, we wish health and dream come true.
