The wafer in Poland is the first and most important Christmas Eve meal – the bread of love. It is made from the same material as the wafers used in church rituals – it is a unique bread, baked very thinly from the most white, sifted wheat flower and pure water. Bread is split from generations as a symbol of brotherhood and unity. |
